Port of Churchill Plus
Government of Canada and Government of Manitoba · Churchill, MB, and the Hudson Bay Railway corridor
Overview
A joint federal–Manitoba strategy to grow Churchill into Canada's Arctic trade gateway: upgrading the Hudson Bay Railway to Class 1 standards, dedicated icebreaking to lengthen the shipping season, an all-weather road and a new energy corridor. It would prioritise Indigenous equity ownership, through Arctic Gateway Group's 41 community shareholders and a new Manitoba Crown-Indigenous Corporation.
