Nova Scotia Onshore Wind Programme
Nova Scotia Power · Nova Scotia (multiple sites)
Overview
Nova Scotia is procuring 1,000 MW of new onshore wind by 2030, enough for about half its electricity demand, as the route to closing its coal fleet. The province chose this over the Atlantic Loop transmission megaproject on cost grounds, making it the clearest Canadian case of generation substituting for interties.
